BeyondExtent hosts monthly workshops led by experienced 3D environment artists, aimed at helping newcomers in the industry learn valuable skills and insights. I contribute to these workshops by creating engaging intro animations that visually reinforce what’s being introduced, as well as outro animations that highlight and celebrate the amazing members of the community.
In addition to the full-length workshop content, I also produce YouTube Shorts to boost visibility and engagement on social media platforms. These short-form videos are designed to capture attention quickly and encourage further interest in the full sessions.
I actively collaborate with the BeyondExtent team to analyze performance data and develop strategies for growing the platform’s online presence. This includes experimenting with content formats, optimizing for viewer retention, and refining our approach based on audience insights.
For the logo animation design, I initially explored a more playful concept using the “O” and arrow, elements that stood out most in the logo. However, after presenting this first version to the client, their feedback was: “The logo animation is nice, but it feels a little too playful and animated for the brand’s overall tone.”
In hindsight, I completely understood the feedback and saw an opportunity to refine the concept. The client also shared an inspiring thought: “I’ve taken real inspiration from looking at the next mountain you’ll climb in your artistic journey, imagine the logo as a tunnel looking out toward that mountain.”
With that vision in mind, I developed a second version that reflected this metaphor in a more abstract, cinematic way, balancing visual depth with fast pacing to maintain engagement while staying true to the brand’s identity.
This project reinforced something I value deeply: the first version isn’t always the final one. I believe in working closely with clients to iterate, refine, and ultimately arrive at a result that captures both the intended message and the right emotional tone.
For the end card, I created a clean and balanced design that puts the spotlight on the featured community members, making their work easy to see and appreciate. To streamline the workflow and maintain flexibility, I built a set of templates that allow me to quickly swap backgrounds, this way, each outro screen can be customized with the specific artist’s work, giving every video a unique and personal touch.
The client’s response to the final result was incredibly positive:
“The design and transition on the outro is fantastic. I love how you laid out the design elements and also added a ‘next workshop’ section with that subtle animation. Much love for this!”
This kind of feedback reinforces my belief in thoughtful design and adaptability—especially when it helps highlight and celebrate the creative community.
To expand BeyondExtent’s social presence, we began producing YouTube Shorts, a first step toward increasing viewer engagement and reach. These short-form videos allow us to repurpose key moments from the workshops into quick, digestible content tailored for social media.
By closely monitoring the performance of each video, we make incremental adjustments to test what resonates best with our audience. This is an ongoing, data-driven process that allows me to explore content trends while staying true to the core identity of the BeyondExtent brand.
